Form teams of two. Work side-by-side on the assignment, either on one computer or using two computers but looking at the same sites at the same time.
Go to the following web pages and do the assignment as given--look at all five web sites then pick two for further study. Evaluate the sites, using the information on the subject page as a guideline, but also using your own judgement.
Write up your evaluations as you do them. All the evaluations should be in a single document, with one section for each of the four sites (two per subject) that you chose for further evaluation. First, list the reason why you chose that site for in-depth study. Next, list the reasons you feel that the site is reliable or unreliable. Put all the reasons you trust it together and all the reasons you don't trust it together. Then give the site an overall rating of either "legit" or "bogus".
Finish your evaluations by 10:00. At that time, print out your write-ups on the Canon printer. At 10:05 we will then go through each site as a class, see who rated which sites and how, and argue over why we rated it one way while other lunkheads did it all wrong.
Then we'll go through the teams and see which team the class as a whole thinks did the best job of evaluating web sites, and why.
